Heather, the Director of the Studio, has been teaching dancers in the Tri-City area for over forty years. Heather is an Independent Member and Past President of ScotDance Canada, a Life Member of the British Association Teachers of Dance, Examiner for the United Kingdom Dance Teachers’ Alliance, a Member of the International Adjudicators Panel of the Scottish Official Board, and a Past President of the BC Highland Dancing Association. She was honoured to be presented with the Atholl Clasp, an award emblematic of outstanding services to Highland dancing worldwide and presented the award by the Chairman of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing, Edinburgh.
Heather has taught and adjudicated at most of the major centers of Highland dancing including Scotland, the United States, Ireland, and Australia. Her dancers have regularly performed with the World Champion Simon Fraser University Pipe Band. Her pupils have won Canadian, Scottish, USA, North American and Australian championships including the World Championships held in Dunoon, Scotland.
Jeanette started highland dancing at the age of three. She continued to dance and compete successfully for the next 30 years. During that time, she was fortunate to have many competitive successes including winning the BC, Canadian, North American, Western United States, Australasian Commonwealth, and Grand Australasian Championships.
Jeanette was also fortunate to travel and dance with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band. They performed in some of the world's most outstanding concert halls including Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Waterfront Hall in Belfast, and the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Jeanette now enjoys teaching and judging highland dancing. She is a member of the BATD and has been on the SOBHD Judges Panel since 1997.
Jeanette is married to Andrew Bonar, a piper in the SFU pipe band. They have a daughter, Kate and a son, Cameron, who have both taken up highland dance.
Fiona has been involved in highland dancing since the age of four. She has won over seventy-five Championships including the 2007 World Junior Championship. In 2013 Fiona graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
She has danced on many of the world’s famous stages with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, including the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Massey Hall in Toronto, the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, and the Lincoln Centre in New York. Fiona is a registered teacher with ScotDance Canada, the BATD, and the SDTA.
Fiona is still dancing competitively today.
As of January 2016, Fiona is a new judge for the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.
